Welcome at the Yangon International Airport and transfer to hotel. After check-in, start sightseeing in the center of downtown Yangon, walking along the Colonial Heritage Buildings of Yangon and Sule Pagoda. Afternoon sightseeing will start with Chaukhtatgyi: a colossal reclining Buddha which stretches 70-m long, and then visit to the 8 meter high GoldenLion Throne as well as the Mandalay Royal Regalia at the National Museum(closed on Monday and public holidays). Complete your day in Myanmar with an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments, the Shwedagon Pagoda, most revered stupa of shimmering pyramid of gold towering 98 meter and dominating the whole city. Overnight at Yangon.
Early morning drive to Kyaikhtiyo, better known as the Golden Rock Pagoda, the largest domestic tourism center located about 190km from Yangon. It is a large boulder precariously perched on the edge of a hill over 1100 km above sea level, containing sacred hair relic of the Buddha. On the way visit Htaukkyant Cemetery where 27000 allied soldiers who had perished during the Second World War were buried. After arriving at Kinpun base camp of Kyaikhtiyo, proceed to YatheTaung (Hermit Hill) camp which is located on the half way and about 45 minutes drive from Kinpun base camp and 2 km uphill track to the summit. (Please note that the journey is made in open trucks, which are very crowded and uncomfortable (be aware of this before you decide to join this tour).Overnight in Kyaikhtiyoe.
After breakfast at hotel, you will return to YANGON (194 km – 5 hours). On the way, visit Bago, located 80 km northeast of Yangon which was an ancient Mon’s capital. Tour highlights are Shwethalyaung-another colossal and most life-like reclining Buddha in Myanmar built during 9th Century, Shwe Maw Daw Pagoda and Hintagon Pagoda. If time permit, visit KanbawzathadiPalace ,the palace site of King Bayintnaung who was the founder of 2nd Myanmar Empire and Kyaik Pun Pagoda, four gigantic Buddha Images. Drive back to Yangon. Overnight at Yangon.
After breakfast at hotel, if time permits, stroll through the BOGYOKE (SCOTTS) MARKET (closed on Monday& on public holidays) with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores. And visit to “Kaba Aye Pagoda” which means “World Peace Pagoda” and “Kyauktawgyi Pagoda” or also known as “LawkaChantharArbayarLaba Muni Buddha Image”. After that transfer to airport for your international departure flight.
